Wallace Seymour (Pip Seymour) Liquid Graphite
£11.05
Wallace Seymour Liquid Graphite is a water-resoluble graphite that dries to a matt, velvet finish. Liquid Graphite can be applied to all art papers and is easy to dilute with water to create subtle washes. Upon drying, the surface sheen is akin to graphite powder – the special binder used bonds the graphite to the painting surface, without creating any gloss at all.
Careful dilution of Wallace Seymour Liquid Graphite with water onto specific paper surfaces allow the artist to manipulate the material further. For example, when thinned fifty per cent with water and applied to a heavy weight (300gsm or above) handmade paper, the graphite particles dry off slightly exposed on the surface, creating a variegated effect. The potential to experiment and innovate with other drawing media (charcoal, pastel, water based inks etc) further opens up the possibilities.
There are four ‘coulours’ of Wallace Seymour Liquid Graphite (see Additional Information), supplied in bottles of 50mll.
Wallace Seymour Liquid Graphite can be applied with brushes, palette knives, spatulas, etc., neat or diluted as required with water. It can also be admixed with acrylic paint and/or acrylic mediums to create even more versatile effects.
Both artists themselves, Rebecca and Pip have tried out these materials themselves before putting them into production, as well as listening to feedback from others that they trust and respect. They do not sell the materials themselves, nor do they supply large chains, as they value the work of small, independent retailers.
