Sailor Shikiori Hisakata Fountain Pen

Another excellent pen from Sailor.  The Sailor Shikiori Hisakata is an inexpensive addition to the “Season’s” series of pens.  Hisakata seems to translate as “Sky, Moon”.  I’m not sure if it means both or either, or whether it simply refers to the moon in the sky.  Whatever!

The colours of the Sailor Shikiori Hisakata series are Sparkly Black – Stardust: Pink – Sakura, or Cherry Blossom, Blue – Ichimuzu, evoking a shower of rain, and Red – Akanezora, the Red representing the morning or evening sky.  The appointments are silver, in keeping with the theme.

The nib is steel, in Fine only – remember that Japanese nibs tend to be about half a size finer than European nibs.  It is smooth, but given its fineness provides some satisfying feedback.

The Sailor Shikiori Hisakata uses the convenient cartridge converter system – converter provided, cartridges from Sailor.
