Onoto Excel Vermeil Pen

The Onoto Excel Vermeil Pen is a lighter and slimmer version of Onoto’s classic vermeil Magna. The 23 carat gold-plated silver caqp and barrel of the Excel are engine turned in a beautifully stylish barleycorn pattern that helps with the grip. The smooth end hood carries the pen’s hallmarks, and the end of the barrel is stamped with the limited-edition number. As with all of their pens, the Onoto Excel Vermeil Pen carries the words “ONOTO the PEN” and “Made in England” on a plain panel on its barrel.

The cap of the Onoto Excel Vermeil Pen has the characteristic Onoto clip, plated like the pen with 23-carat gold, bearing their cipher and the distinctive triple-chevron pattern that has been Onoto’s since the 1930s.

The nib fitted to the Onoto Excel Vermeil Pen is the slightly smaller number 3 in 18 carat gold, in Fine, Medium, or Broad, but if you choose “Modified Nib“, then Onoto will hand-make a nib to your specifications. This pen can also be supplied with a rollerball conversion kit in sterling silver, again plated with 23 carat gold. This is in addition to the fountain pen nib, allowing to change your pen to a rollerball simply by unscrewing one tip from the barrel (as you would to replace the cartridge) and screwing in the other.
