Esterbrook Estie Oversized Botanical Garden Fountain Pen

For lovers of a big pen, this is the one for you.

As with all Estie’s, adorned with a discrete “Esterbrook” engraving can be found on the base of the clip. It is made of high quality acrylic resin, finished to the highest standard and in a range of colours. Botanical Gardens pay’s homage to springtime gardens, celebrating them with the wonderful resin, a kaleidoscope of floral accents, from greens to blues, deep reds to oranges. Displayed in the familiar crackle-like pattern that all Estie Esterbrooks have. 

The Esterbrook Estie Oversize is a big pen, weighing in at 34g and a mighty 18.5cm long posted.  But it’s uncluttered, clean lines and perfect balance make it a pleasure to look at and to use.

It is a cartridge/converter pen.  The connector is reassuringly solid brass, holding section, barrel and converter firmly in place.  The cap is sprung, giving a pleasing feeling when capping and uncapping the pen – not to mention ensuring that the nib doesn’t dry out.

The finish is superb, and there are plentiful choices of nibs – including the custom grinds, the Journaler, Scribe and Needlepoint at extra cost.  The Custom Grinds offer great variety to your writing.  A grind differs from a standard nib as a skilled and experienced technician has, as the name suggests, spent time grinding the tipping on the nib to give a distinctive line or variation to the nib.

The Scribe is an often requested grind, brilliant for lettering.  The needlepoint does just what it says – a very fine writing point for tiny writing, but very usable and pleasant to use.  But we guess that the Journaller will be the most popular – easy to use, adds character to writing, can be drawn with – perfect!
